Thank you for writing this. I have been thinking about ancestors recently, and how little I know about my own and this was lovely to read.

Thank you Kaspa - I think many of us get to an age when we begin to think more about our family histories and wish we knew more. I'm trying to persuade my adult children that now is the time to collect the stories!

How many of us wish we'd paid more attention to the stories of our grandparents. I certainly do. A lovely read Avril and will check out Food for Ravens on iPlayer.

I think there are so many of us like this, wishing we'd listened more. Sadly the stories are often lost, not present in family trees or ancestry research. I admire people who do research their families but I can't really imagine putting my mind to it. It's the voices I want to hear...

Lovely to read this, Avril. And a great testament to your Grandmother, she left this rock of coal in your soul which well burn a lifetime. That's a life well lived, few of us are affected by someone so rich in those important ways, that we carry a part of them forever.
